Annum Rounds Out Leadership Team with Top Former Aetna Business Development Professional
Debbie Dexter Joins Ex-Google/Salesforce, Ex-Pharma, Ex-Planned Parenthood Leaders and Annum Health Co-Founders in Building a Modern Alternative to Rehab for Heavy Drinking
New York, NY (April 10, 2017)—Annum Health announced that Debbie Dexter has been named the organization’s senior vice president of business development. Debbie joins Annum after nearly two decades at Aetna in various senior sales, marketing and data analytics roles. During her tenure, Debbie was responsible for managing some of Aetna’s most important customers, including Costco Wholesale and Amazon.
“We’re so thrilled Debbie has joined Annum, where she will forge lasting relationships with major insurers and employers who want to take a proactive approach to the large and, unfortunately, growing problem of heavy drinking in America,” said Michael Laskoff, Annum’s CEO and co-founder. “Debbie joins a leadership team that possesses decades of experience at a range of America’s largest and most trusted brands. Her addition to the team will accelerate Annum’s ability to deliver private and modern treatment for the millions of people in need.”
Annum’s leadership is composed of a diverse group of professionals from the health care, tech and alcohol treatment sectors. In addition to Mr. Laskoff, Annum’s co-founders include Chief Clinical Officer Lauren Wolfe, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist, certified tobacco treatment specialist and associate training director of the Health Psychology Program at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, and Chief Medical Officer Mark Willenbring, MD, a psychiatrist who previously led the Division of Treatment and Recovery Research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism at the National Institutes of Health.
Sandy Humphrey, Annum’s chief people officer, brings more than 20 years’ experience working in highly complex, global companies including Sanofi, Merck, Prudential, Staples and, most recently, Combs Enterprises. Chief Technology Officer Paul Hands brings two decades of varied engineering and managerial experience, including building and leading Salesforce's next generation cloud infrastructure and managing all of Google's non-US hardware operations. Annum’s communications and marketing efforts are spearheaded by Amanda Harrington, who possesses more than a decade of experience in health care communications and advocacy.
“Large employers know that heavy drinking is a problem in for the health and wellbeing of their workforce, but until now — until Annum — they haven’t had the option of a single national solution that can securely and privately deliver treatment directly to the person that’s quietly in need,” said Debbie Dexter. “I am thrilled to join this talented team of professionals and so proud to be working to solve one of our country’s biggest health care problems.”
Annum delivers the superior alternative to traditional rehab for heavy drinking. Co-founded by proven leaders in health care, technology and alcohol treatment, Annum transforms the treatment experience while eliminating profound barriers to care — high cost, personal and professional disruption, and stigma. At a fraction of the price of inpatient care at a traditional rehab facility, Annum’s tech-enabled solution fully integrates therapy, coaching, medication and support over the course of up to a year to help people reach their individual goals.
